Facing a raise

Three-Bet Range Charts — Six-Max, 100bb

A three-bet is a re-raise after an opening raise. There is no single three-bet range for every seat: compare these three common matchups and practise each decision separately.

Read the positions before the hands

The button facing the cutoff has postflop position. The small blind facing the button does not, and the big blind is still behind. The big blind facing the button can close the action by calling. Those differences produce different ranges and raise sizes.

A three-bet range is part of a full response

The raise colour identifies the three-bet portion. The other colours show what happens to the remaining hands. The button-versus-cutoff and small-blind-versus-button charts here use raise-or-fold responses, while the big-blind chart also includes calls.

Practise the mixed hands

Strong pairs are easier to remember than the boundary between a re-raise, a call, and a fold. Compare suited aces with their offsuit counterparts and inspect any split cells. In advanced drill mode, an RNG roll helps you practise the displayed frequencies.

How to read a poker range chart

The 13×13 grid contains all 169 starting-hand classes in No-Limit Texas Hold’em. Pairs run down the diagonal, from AA to 22. Suited hands sit above it (AKs), and offsuit hands below it (AKo). T means ten.

The legend gives the action and total range percentage. A split cell means the hand mixes actions: 75% raise and 25% fold means raising three quarters of the time. It does not describe the hand’s chance of winning. Raise sizes are the total bet in big blinds, not the extra amount added.

Overall percentages count card combinations: each pair has 6, each suited hand 4, and each offsuit hand 12, for 1,326 combinations in total. Simply counting coloured squares would give a different, misleading percentage.

Is a three-bet always three times the opening raise?

No. Three-bet describes the betting sequence, not a fixed multiplier. The blinds count as the first bet, an open is the second, and the re-raise is the third. Use the size shown in each chart.

Using these charts

Changing stack depth, rake, opening size, or the number of players changes the situation. Study the assumptions alongside the hands.
